Media Library

Note: You must have have privilege level of “Administrator” or "Global Administrator" to access this area.

The Media Library is the area in Kentico where you can store and manage your digital assets used for the website (e.g. images, pictures, document files, PDFs, etc.) 

  1. Click on Applications icon
  2. Click on Content Management
  3. Click on Media Libraries

Here, you'll see all the existing media libraries:

  • CMS Manual Library - contains assets that were used to create the CMS Manual. This is for Rise's use only. 
  • Core Media Library - contains assets used to build the design.  This is for Rise's use only.
  • Website Media Library - contains assets for the new website. This is the media library that you should use moving forward.

How to Edit/Manage Media Library

Within the Media Library, you'll see digital assets organized in different folders. You can create as many folders as you'd like to organize and store all the digital assets used for the website. 

  1. Navigate to the Media Libraries interface using the steps above. 
  2. Click on the Edit icon (pencil) next to media library (e.g. Website Media Library) 
  3. Click on either List or Grid icon to change the view
  4. Helpful tip: To see more files, click on the arrow to lower the bottom panel
  1. To upload an image, find and select the folder of your preference and click on the Upload button
  2. To add a new folder, select the parent folder to create it under, and click on the + icon at top
  3. Enter the folder's name
  4. Click on the Save & Close button

Pro Tip: Media Library Organization

Keep media library structure as similar to the site structure/CMS page tree as possible. This will help locate assets and folders faster if they follow the same structure throughout the CMS.

Try to avoid storing more than 50 images to one folder to keep CMS usable. At that point, probably better to create additional subfolders for organization purposes.
